In 2021 Clubhouse started the trend with live rooms and then was followed by other social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter. With the pandemic continuing to disrupt live events and forcing businesses and industry groups to seek alternative means of networking and community connection, LinkedIn has seen a significant increase in live events hosted on its platform, with the number of people creating Live Events in the app increasing by 150 percent year over year.
First and foremost, LinkedIn is releasing an early test of its own Clubhouse-style audio events platform, which will allow users to tune into live discussions in the app and interact by raising their virtual hand to join as a speaker or responding with likes.
